Foot was the ‘wrong man’ for review ¬ª News ¬ª This Is Guernsey.
Credit should be given where it is due.
The Guernsey Press has reported my comments on the Foot review even though I am sure it does not agree with them.
I'm not the first to note that it has been more objective of late than its jersey stable mate or the press in other secrecy jurisdictions.
I'm happy to record the fact.

It is the right stance. Of course, it doesn’t feel very natural considering the decades of propaganda – actually that’s not fair, I remember the old broadsheet, it was a well maintained rural-type local eventer. It became less small-c conservative, with absolute nods to Queen and an Allegiance to Special Littleness as the BankCorp machine filled the unorganised vaccuum left by the wilted vineries and windswept beaches. Both tourism and growing were massively impacted by the early seventies oil onanismist cogency.. This is the epoch of Guernsey that the Islandists (as someone said “Choose2EschewEU.commers”) are trying to portray (there is much debate about Sarnia-ninity and what it means.)
The idyllism of tiny Gsy does not match a rapacious multinat’s ambitions. Has this last decade of hardened plutocrats wielding economic sledgehammers been pleasant? or stressed?
