Prince Albert II of Monaco faces rebellion over tax haven reforms - Telegraph.

After the G20 summit meeting in March, at which Monaco promised to open up banking and tax systems to more international scrutiny, the country was moved from the blacklist to a "grey list" of regimes deemed to be in need of yet further reform.

The Prince's ministers regarded the switch as a partial victory, but the national council felt that too much had been given away to overcome a charge of which Monaco was innocent in the first place. They accused ministers of not defending the country's reputation on the world stage, and not informing parliament of the deals made to reduce banking secrecy.

A statement signed by 21 out of 24 national council members read: "We deplore that Monaco's situation was not defended with more vigour... as a result we are astonished by the self-congratulatory statements from the government on the new classification of the country."

Which makes you realise just how stupid these people are.

1) Monaco exists solely with the consent of 0ther states

2) It has no bargaining power whatsoever

3) That consent is being withdrawn

4) If they do not cooperate the taps will be turned off by France.

This reality appears to be quite beyond the comprehension of the wealthy who think they have the right to abuse.

That's changing, whether they like it or not.
