Living separate lives

Posted on

A London lawyer has said:

We now live in a separate economy, we live on a separate level to the vast majority of people in the country. We don't send our kids to the same schools, we have more choice over schools, we have more choice over health, we have more choice over where we live, we have more choice over where we go on holiday and what we do for our jobs. And we live in a completely different world to the people we live next door to.

This is the financial elite speaking. The 1% who do live separate lives, and want to make sure that continues.

The quote is from Polly Toynbee and David Walker's new book, published today.

The reality is seen day in, day out in the expropriation of the state by this group for their own advantage, and the relative and in many cases absolute decline in living standards for the majority in this country.
