A note of thanks

Yesterday was the most successful day ever for this site. 192 people visited. Each read more than 2 pages on average. Thank you. I appreciate that.

One small point though. If you’d like to save yourself the hassle of finding your own way back again, why not subscribe to the RSS feed that’s available here? Either click on the orange square in the address line in your browser, or sign up to the Feedburner link to the left of this post.

Of course, that does mean you’ll need a news reader. Personally I use the one that comes with Opera, which is my current favoured browser.

If you don't want to use the reader that comes with your browser then there are a number of dedicated feed readers and organisers. Some require a small fee but they're worth the effort if you need to organise large numbers of feeds and want to get into the reading habit. Think of them as a way of skimming through a bunch of newspapers. For PC, FeedDemon is very popular and can be integrated into Outlook. For Mac users, NetNewsWire is a treat.

If you're feeling particularly adventurous, Feeds2 provides a way of personalising and prioritising your reading habits. The service is in beta (aren't they all) but it could help you be more productive when searching through many articles for snippets of information to use in your daily work.

But whatever you choose — this is a good way to collect and quickly review what you want to read each day. Alternatively, the email alert from Feedblitz does quite a good job too.

Thanks for your support.

And thanks to Dennis Howlett for techy support on this.
