It's half term. My guys deserve a break. And I need one.
So it's time to get some steam in the blood.
To go looking for marsh harriers.
And to let the dog have a run on the beach.
As well as watch a film, or two.
And duck out of cooking, maybe.
Whatever the reason I may not be paying as much attention here as usual. There will be something like the sound of silence a little more often until into the weekend.
On which note, let me share this:
Hat tip: Colin Hines
Having said which, my youngest much prefers this version, which has grown on me, largely because he's taken control of music in the car:

What gems! Thanks. And take all the break you need – we Blog addicts will just have to go cold turkey, knowing you need your break.
🙂
Enjoy the marsh harriers! (Ospreys don’t arrive until late March/early April, so first trip to Wales (Bala, close to Llyn Tegid) booked for April. And might be moving there too, if plans mature…)
Enjoy
I did not expect to see Disturbed get posted on here!!
Pleased to surprise!
If you love beaches, birds and wildlife – and have a fondness for Scotland – I would strongly recommend a visit to the beautiful island of Islay where you may see sea and golden eagles, joyful choughs, hen harriers, and in winter half of the worlds population of Greenland barnacle geese mingle with 60% of the worlds’ Greenland White fronted geese. It is a naturalist’s paradise – and home to eight whisky distilleries should that be of interest! I can’t think of anywhere better to re-charge your batteries.
I would love to do sometime
Too far for a few days though
Thanks for the suggestion
Good for you.
Surprised you carry on at all.

From ‘Confounds the Science’, I found ‘Where have all the Statesmen gone?’ ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIGzb_FI0AA ), which (after last week’s Chaos post – and others) I thought highly appropriate.
Very good
The quality of the ….sound..vocal quality etc is excellent.
It’s good to see pastiche, parody, ‘homage’ etc done with the degree of skill that does justice to the original.
A very special song. Lots of nostalgic echos. If contemporary music was consistently this good would young people be fucking-up their lives with synthetic chemicals ?
You mean people didn’t in the 60s?
You mean people didn’t in the 60s?
Well I didn’t. Because it wasn’t available at the primary school gate.
Excellent – and enjoy the break Richard
PS I’ll second the vote for Islay. But then the whole West coast gets my vote, getting ever better the further North and West you go
