A short film from 38 Degrees explaining what the government's gagging law is all about and why it's bad for democracy. Featuring 38 Degrees, Guido Fawkes, Friend of the Earth, Baston Legal & HOPE not hate.
Maybe the first (and maybe the last) time Paul Staines has featured here.

When I see David Babbs and Paul Staines saying pretty much the same things in defence of democracy, I’m more than ever convinced that a major re-alignment of politics away from the traditional left-right divide towards working together to defend and re-establish basic principles is essential.
Weird, isn’t it?
But so obvious now that the Westminster establishment – the establishment as a whole – is far removed from reality
Absolutely Nick – we even had Richard agreeing with Douglas carswell a few blogs ago. I’ve been saying for some time that the left/right issue is now old hat. I’ve found myself surprisingly (for someone from a left background) in sympathy with views expressed by the Austrian Economists as well as MMT. The issue is now about neo-feudalism, the radical reform of banking, democracy, housing and allowing wealth to return to our communities. The more we can all work together to get there is more important than nominal positions.
