From the FT this morning:
The Financial Reporting Council said on Thursday it was investigating whether KPMG was independent when it audited car dealer Pendragon's financial statements for 2010 and 2011 as well as looking into a “non-timely disposal of a shareholding” in a client by a KPMG member.

I watched Prem Sikka’s lecture during which (I think) he referred to various employees of the big four being prosecuted and sent down.
How many have we prosecuted and sentenced in the UK? None or close to none would be my guess.
I’m not particularly interested in the revenge element of prosecutions but they do illustrate how seriously a government takes financial crime (other than benefit fraud of course).
