Thanks to those who have enquired as to whether I am all right as a result of the blog being silent for four days - an almost unprecedented interval in the last four years.
Yes, I am fine thanks. But just for once I took a holiday!
Normal service will resume soon.

Good. I thought that was probably it, tho’ slightly concerned you hadn’t said so. But since my main worry is that the Chevalier de Tax Justice may any day collapse in a heap through overwork, I can only say: Go to it, take a holiday and ensure that doesn’t happen!
I’ll do my best!
I intend to be doing this for another 30 years if need be
Where I wonder? Jersey? Monaco? Zug? Nassau? But not, I think, Douglas. Loughborough would have been a good place for a visit (GCR).
I am offshore!
I am even on an island.
And it’s a UK territory
But the Isle of Wight is not a tax haven
So it’s one of those places where I feel safe – and away from it!
Back in the early 1800’s it was a sort of tax haven, in that it was cheap to live there. The Deputy of the British Punitive Expedition to the USA in 1814, Arthur Brooke, that torched Washington DC, married at Brading to the daughter of the Vicar of Newchurch, the Rev. Wetenhall Sneyd, interred by the altar. The old railway system there was a delight to use.
The preserved railway still is
Richard – if no one else has posted a “Well done”, then let me do so. A Bank Holiday break is just what you need, and with Nadine Dorries squabbling with Louise Mensch, and openly calling for a General Election, because she clearly sees – and says as much! – that Plan A has failed, plus Tim Yeo suggesting Cameon needs to grow a pair and show some backbone, so as to “re-launch the Cameron Premiership” (surely, re-launches come in year 10, don’t they?) – well, now’s a good time to ease off for a few days. But please get back to the barricades asap, because what you have to say is so inspirational AND so educative and informative.
Thank you
