Whilst I was in Jersey I was interviewed by Mike Dunn, who runs a blog called Voice of Protest on which he has run a series on faith and finance.
Mike videoed the interview. If you don’t like people talking about faith, please don’t bother to watch — but I should say straight away there’s a lot more about Jersey and offshore on here than anything to do with my faith, which as I say, is something I feel no obligation to evangelise. For me that is always a personal decision, and I have no desire to interfere with another person’s opinion upon it.
That said, these are the videos he made:

Well Richard, we’re supposedly a good Christian society here on the beautiful Isle of Man. We even have a Bishop on our Legislative Council. With full blown voting rights in the Parliament too.
You’d like him.
I’m not altogether sure how far decent Christian principles spread through the rest of the Manx powerhouse and the upper echelons of our society though. Most go to church I believe and our Parliament and House of Keys even say prayers before they do their business.
On the face of it, I think you’d quite like the Isle of Man.
On the face of it.

I think you should be aware that whilst I do worship in the CoE I was not a Quaker for nothing
My suspicion of established religion (something quite different from faith) is strong – and for good reason
I am a Christian and I work in offshore finance and I am proud of what we do.
@Jamie
Christians defended apartheid
You defend offshore
I see clear similarities
Being a Christian does not permit you to abuse
It’s a lesson a lot of Christians need to learn
It’s not clear all have – by a long way
I really enjoyed listening to these videos…you should think about doing this more often. I also think you should consider doing some more introductory work along these lines for those without the necessary accounting, legal, economic backgrounds…these issues, the ones that come up on this blog again and again, are way too important to leave to those who take pleasure in batting jargon back and forth.
