What a fascinating mix. The FTSE is rising. Retailers are facing a hard time because that's the reality on the ground.
Economists are happy the government is tackling the deficit and yet worried they have no idea how to tackle inflation and yet the reality is the government has the deficit hopelessly wrong and deflation remains a real fear - meaning that, as has proved to be the case time and again these economists are utterly missing the point. .
What a mess. We are urgently in need of alternatives.
