The ‘international standard’ is, of course, just twelve of the almost meaningless Tax Information Exchange Agreements, but even so many places are a long way from achieving that.
I’d also love to know why there are just 82 jurisdictions on this list when there are 223 in the world. Don’t the others count? Shouldn’t international mean ‘all’?

That’s because they are an autonymous region of Denmark so when you sign up with Denmark you get the Faroes for free.

Two for one. Nice. I note Switzerland’s recent DTA with Denmark didn’t single out Faroes as a separate deal… yet Caymans did?
Those “almost meaningless Tax Information Exchange Agreements” aren’t so meaningless or you and your cadre of totalitarianists would not push them on UNWILLING countries with threats of sanctions! This is serious stuff. The countries are unwilling because these TIEAs are NOT MEANINGLESS! You G12er’s are acting like world-class bullies!
Nobody should be surprised that you think 82 is not enough. No, no, on to conquer and subjugate the rest of the world! Bring those insolent lesser countries into line with the high-tax states! In fact, don’t just make them change their laws to your meet your own – TAKE THEM OVER! Make those slaves bend to the mighty power of the bully with the biggest bombs. World-wide tyranny is your prescription as far as I can tell. “Hail the new world order, a global authoritarian dictatorship!” That seems to be your message. Global hegemonic domination: good. The notion of independent sovereignty and keeping your busy body nose out of other people’s business: bad. Exellent. It sounds like we can all look forward to a bright future of freedom with Mr. Murphy at the helm.

Of course I don’t think you control the world (thank friggin’ God you don’t!), Richard. I know that because if you did it would surely already be a blazing inferno of Hellatious tyranny with no escape possible – and certainly no financial privacy. We all know you hate that!
But don’t try to play dumb like you don’t know what I’m talking about or like I’m crazy for thinking you hate freedom (why wouldn’t I think that considering what you’ve written?). Of course I don’t think you control much at all. I’m talking about, in some sense, you (who supports the power whores and gives them ammunition) and people who think like you who are in power. I’m merely frightened that you have any sort of sway on policy with any government – which you do have – seeing as how you helped write a draft of the EU Saving Tax Directive (correct?) and have “addressed UN, EU, HM Revenue & Customs and international diplomatic meetings on these issues.”
What exactly is out of touch about my thinking here, Richard? Do you not want a world where all countries answer to whatever the large nations (or at least the anglo-saxon ones you have some kind of affiliation to power with) want in the way of tax policy? How could you deny that?
God forbid China or Russia start dictating that the UK get their policies in line with them! How would you feel then? How about forced labor camps for UK dissidents like China has? Why is it that you might not want a foreign country (like China) to dictate your internal policies? How about we round-up and execute all Falun Gong practitioners in the UK and harvest their organs on the way to throwing their bodies in a a pit? After all, China’s government would probably be ecstatic about that, and they have the larest population on earth. Isn’t that democratic? Plus, think of all the Chinese goods that the UK buys and lives on! Why, the UK is dependent on China for those goods, and if China’s workers did not keep supplying them, the UK standard of living would decline, so perhaps the UK should show a little gratitude and start to change it’s laws to whatever China wants.
I hope you realize what I’ve written directly above is sarcasm and I hope you get the analogy. Sadly, you probably don’t and you just think I’m even more crazy now.
Dear Richard, We have the same OCDE list on 28 th August (checked on monday 31th). Just one question which I badly need to know ¬ø Can you tell me the source of the 223 jurisdictions?

I entirely reject your arguments
I can see no reason why seeking to get people to comply with reasonable tax laws created by democratic states is an assault on freedom
It is an assault on lawlessness
If you are promoting lawlessness please say so
