Well, what do you expect from Barclays, a company that, as your previous posts on here concerning their tax-dodging activities show, are unashamed proponents of the general City mentality of putting short term financial gains over every other consideration, including that of the welfare of their own staff.
However, as we’ve seen in the case of Goodwin and the other failed bankers who’ve sailed off with gigantic pension payouts, the logic that “we can’t afford to give the staff decent pensions” will not apply to those running Barclays. One law for the rich………..etc.
