What are the International Accounting Standards Board up to? In fairness, even they have doubts about the SME standard. And I entirely agree with you about late accounts. There is no reason for a nine-month time delayed by the way: everyone leaves it to the last minute so what is the problem of having a shorter time period? Richard M

Fair value accounting for all small and medium-sized businesses as well?? Good heavens, what planet are the IASB on? Would you agree though that even accruals accounting starts to lose its value if the accounts are prepared 9 months after year end, if there are no more recent figures to look at? M Thanks Richard.
