An early second birthday present

Posted on

The first entry on this blog is dated 8 June 2006.

Two years on there have been 1,792 posts, at least 500,000 words and more than 600,000 reads. Today the blog got an early second birthday present. The British Library has asked to archive this blog for posterity as part of its national collection of web sites.

It seems that this is a fairly rare honour. Only twenty or so finance and economics web sites have been archived in this way so far.

I admit I'm pleased, and flattered. I write this blog mainly for my own leisure. As some might have noticed, I am a compulsive writer. But as any writer will tell you, it's quite nice to be noticed.
