Guess what? The Center for Freedom and Prosperity (the ‘tax cheats lobby’ according to David Cay Johnston in ‘Perfectly Legal’) has come out and said of Liechtenstein tax fraud:
Blame German Tax Law, Not Liechtenstein Privacy Law
Staggering.

While that was the title of the post, it mostly covered how Germans are avoiding tax within Germany by making off the books transactions for their daily purchases, pointing out that Germany has much bigger tax problems of tax evasion right at home.
Perhaps the people to blame are those who are evading taxes? I would be interested in your view today Richard about the article in the Times about old age pensioners who prefer to go to prison than pay their council tax because the council tax is so harshly unfair on them. Can you please condemn them out of hand as tax evaders who deserve everything they get? According to your creed, they should pauperise themselves to pay “what is due to the state”. Have I understood you correctly?
