The percentage of housholds living on/or less that median income in Guernsey and Jersey is higher than that of the UK.

Jersey's spending on social protection as a percentage og GNI is less than all 27 EU States, and all of the OECD States bar South Korea and Mexico.

That's what being a small island tax haven, with a single economy (finance industry) has done for Jersey.</description>

		<description>A relative worked in Guernsey for five years (not financial services) and was sickened by the gap between those in the financial services sector and the rest of the economy. 

This "turning a blind eye" is to make sure that the high-earners continue in their privileged position. Sadly it seems to be just the same in the UK.</description>
