Taxing business is nothing more than making that business a collector of taxes ultimately from that country's citizens (as end users of the company's products directly, or beneficiaries of utilization of the company's product, indirectly).

Taxing business constitutes a "hidden tax" to the consumer. It, combined with an income tax code, are the tools of mischief that politicians, lobbyists, and bankers depend on to continue excessive spending that citizens cannot totally comprehend. Citizens cannot make politicians accountable for taxes they cannot see that they're paying.

The American FairTax initiative seeks to make all taxes visible by taxing goods and services "at the cash register" by the end using consumer. Worth checking out at FairTax.org.
