Hi Richard.
Really good post. I wondered if you'd read a book called The New Capitalists by David Pitt-Watson, Stephen Davis and Jon Lukomnik, which deals with quite similar issues.
Or if you'd seen the Tomorrow's Investor project the RSA (Royal Society of Arts) are currently running.
Check it out - I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

I agree with everything Richard says, and his concept of a two-tier pension provision by the State.

However, my main concern still lies with with those who have contributed to society all their lives, especially those who have worked in low paid work or non paid work, like caring for the family etc. As historically the basic state pension has always been set at an unsustainable level.
